Barack Obama's former pastor should have stuck with the wisdom of the prophets.

. . . Most problematic for the Democratic presidential front-runner was Wright's suggestion that Obama was insincere in distancing himself from his former pastor.

. . . The crowd (all but a few tickets were bought by churches and organizations supporting Wright) cheered loudly and heckled the moderator, a USA Today reporter, when she tried to maintain order.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

What a mess Obama made when he made mistakes in judgment and association. The country should be glad to be finally learning about this before it's too late.

Yes, Obama made a hug mistake in picking Wright as a friend. Imagine that as your Minister, amazing, this is the Man is turned to for spiritual guidance, and became a personal friend.

Although from what I have learned about Obama, many of these business friends were friends to help him get ahead politically.

I only hope this country gets the message.

Friends can turn on you, as Obama is discovering; and, as Wright is learning as well.

I glanced at a poll this morning that reveals what most have known all along -- both sides of the Democratic candidate equation have become more disenchanted and disinclined to vote if the other side wins the nomination, or they'll vote for McCain.

Looks like McCain, is the winner in all of this. Funny isn't it this was to be the best year ever for the Democrats and they get involved with Obama. I read an article today discussing the dream team.I hope Ms. Clinton says no thank you. You no all they want to do is use her fighting spirit, to defeat McCain, and she would have no power.

She's better off to sit it out till 2012.

Today Obama strongly said that Wright is wrong, and what Wright said is opposed to what Obama is.

Diane and OK, as you know, Obama called Wright's weekend performance "a spectacle." Denounced him a second time. Will he deny him a third time? Let's not forget that Wright considers himself as the church and his successor compared his troubles to Jesus' travails.

Daniel Schoor on NPR said Wright may be the biggest threat Obama faces today. Obama's two-decade association with Wright was clearly ill-considered.

It was all about building a political career for Obama, oh how he selected the wrong church to go to!

Yes, that's what I read. He could have chosen a church where the message was about brotherly love.
