I don't think my hometown is famous for being the birthplace of something important like the U.S. Navy. I know of no privateers. I wouldn't mind if the Navy's birthplace was here. Someone could cook the history books or commandeer wikipedia. A lot of people would be surprised about the real birthplace of the Navy. And, the hometown must have its own ship.
Everyone in town could easily fit into one of those decommissioned aircraft carriers. Someone would have to be in charge of maintenance. I don't think the town has a maintenance department. An ocean liner is my preference because we're near the interstate and we could pick up some motel business.
We don't have a cannon from the Great War in town but I know where there's a nice one in a cemetery on the same road as me but on the other side of the county. It would be nice if we were the hometown of that cannon.
We could erect a statue in the park if some famous person was born here. The electric train ran past town but I don't think anyone famous rode in it. I can't actually say anyone was born in this town because there are plenty of hospitals and that's where most of that stuff goes on these days.
In all fairness, everyone mostly minds their own business so I have no way of knowing whether anyone famous was born here or in the hospital.
